About the working group
The purpose of the group is to exchange experiences on road technology. Road technology is about road materials, pavement design and road degradation. The group will exchange knowledge and best practices in relation to approaches and methodologies that can support sustainable material selection in the road sector.
The working group will focus on specific themes, including sustainable approach and recycling of materials in the road sector, the functional properties of the road over time, aging infrastructure, and prioritization of the road network.

The working group has been set up for the period July 2024 – June 2028. Iceland is the leading country of the working group during that period.
Climate and Environment is the overarching theme for all the working groups during the period 2024–2028.
Relevant UN Global Goals:
The group will make proposals for the follow-up on the sustainable development goals in autumn 2024.
