Finland’s chairmanship of the NVF is starting next week
We in Finland are excited to welcome you all to Finland’s chairmanship of the Nordic Road Association (NVF). Denmark handed over the chairmanship to Finland for the next 4-year period at the ending ceremony of Via Nordica 2024. Finland’s chairmanship period is starting on 1st of July 2024.
Due to the start of Finland’s chairmanship period, the NVF website will be updated. In accordance with the new language policy, the language of the website will be changed to English. At the same time, some small changes are also made to the structure of the website and membership information will be updated.
There are nine working groups beginning on 1st July 2024. The working groups have been formed to engage major stakeholders in the road and transport sector. The groups are Bridges, Nordic Construction Market, Operation and Maintenance, Road Design, Road Freight Transport, Road Technology, Road Traffic Safety, Tunnels, and Urban Transport and Transport Planning. The strength of the NVF lies in our working groups and their specialists.
A strategy is crafted for the upcoming period. It can be found on the page About NVF/Strategy. The UN Sustainable Development Goals will be the strategic basis of the NVF also during Finland’s chairmanship period. Together we will continue working on achieving the goals!
