About the working group
The purpose of the group is to exchange experiences on road design and to share and develop knowledge of it. Road design is about designing streets and roads to meet the users’ and society’s interests in the most optimal way.
The working group will focus on specific themes, including universal design, urban design, future requirements for road design and climate adaptive solutions.

The working group has been set up for the period July 2024 – June 2028. Finland is the leading country of the working group during that period.
Climate and Environment is the overarching theme for all the working groups during the period 2024–2028.
Relevant UN Global Goals:
The group will make proposals for the follow-up on the sustainable development goals in autumn 2024.
